Hello all,

It Seems every once and a while I go a few weeks with out an update. Then I post some news, and apologize for not posting enough. Well that’s not going to happen with this post. I’m not going to apologize for the lack of posting this time.

Did anyone catch any info from this years Game Developers Conference? There was some game announcements, and some new games shown off. Not as many as seen at some E3's but some stuff to note.
Epic games and Microsoft announced Gears Of War 2 should be out for November 2008. The game promises to be bigger and better. Think of the first Gears as an appetizer.

Wii Fit was shown off and Nintendo says there are plans for 10 games to use the balance thingly that goes with the game.
Other notable games consist of Sony’s MMO The Agency, Fable 2, The up coming MMO Age of Conan, This is Vegas, Fracture, Lego Indiana Jones and may others.

GDC is also home to the Game Developers Choice awards. Where game developers give awards to their peers, and the games they make. This year Portal took home the game of the year award, and plans for a Portal 2 were announced, as well as the cake is a lie.

There is now a street date for Metal Gear Solid 4. Members of Fox Hound can get their paws on it June 12 2008. There will also be a 80 gig PS3 bundele package with Metal Gear Solid 4 and a PS3 control with rumble. The whole package will set you back roughly $500.00.

An upcoming project is on they way from Gearbox software. The company has announced they are working on a new project that will be really big. Gearbox is known for the Brother is Arms series, and the port of Halo to the PC. So, what can this mean for us? Well it could be a project for the 360. Interesting to see what will come about.

The Grand Theft Audio movie has been canceled. No reason has been giving for the move being axed. Rapper Enieim was attached for the project. This is all according to another gaming blog. No need to pay attention to other gaming blogs this is the only one you need to read.
I’m sure we’ve all seen the recent Game Pro issue with stuff about the Gears of War sequel. Well Epic games has shot down the Game Pro article. They say Gears of War 2 has not been announced to any one just yet. Of course we should note Game Pro’s article was just about what we might be able to except for the next Gears installment.

"The Best" series for PS3 is due out on March 9th in Japan. The Best is simal to the greatest hits for PlayStaion and PlayStaion 2. The first games are Resistance: Fall of Man, Folklore, Gundam Seed, Ninja Gaden and Ride Racer. Sony seems to be really pushing it for a best series aside from Resistance.

After a number of delays Rock Star has set a street date for Grand Theft Auto 4. Get your calendars out and mark April 29th 2008 down for the game release. Well I think I heard the 29th. I can’t really remember. Anyways some time near the end of April is when it is going to come out. Rock Star had some trouble getting the game ready for the PS3. That’s one of the reason for the delays. Bad PS3 Bad.

And speaking of the PS3 apparently Sony is going to stop making the 80 gig model, and only focus on the 40 gig. This is according to an internal memo from Best Buy. The Best thing to do is hang onto you PS2s.

If you want to play Rock Band and don’t have anyone to play with well don’t worry. Soon you will be able to buy the game with separate instruments. The drums will probably cost the most.

Safety and Peace

Video games sales were up 43% in 2007 compared to 2006. Halo 3 is one of the reason for the increase. Well, kind of. It’s not the reason, but I needed a way to lead into saying it was the best selling game of 07. Taking Second place was Wii play bundled with the Wii Remote.
If you own a PS3, and, liked Resistance Fall of man than you might be happy to know there is a sequel planed. And if you’re a fan of BioShock than you may be sad to hear there is talks about a BioShock movie. Let’s do are best to keep Uwe Boll away from this one.

And while we’re talking about the year 2007, and games I should take this time to say it was one of the best years for music based games. Thanks to Continued sales of Guitar Hero 2, and the release of Guitar Hero 3.Let’s also not forget about a little game called Rock Band.

I’ll begin with this post with the sad news we’ve all been waiting to here. Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed. Again. The game was supposed to come out in December 2007, than got pushed back to Feb. 10 2008, and now we are looking at a March 10th release date for SSBB. The reason for the delay is because the game needs just a little bit more polishing. It might seem a bit annoying to have a game you’ve been waiting for be delayed twice, but I’d rater wait a little longer to play a great game then get one early that has a lot of flaws.

Fans of Assassin’s Creed might be happy to hear that the DS game might not just be a port of the concel versions. There is a rumor that Assassin’s Creed for the DS will be a pre-qulll to the 360 and PS3 game, and will feature 3D sword fights and acrobatics, as well as four count ‘em four new cites. Holy snot past on a pink car.

There is also a rumor floating around that Hudson Soft. Is working on a Wii version of the NES classic Duck Hunt. Not much is known about the game right now, but it would be really cool if you can shoot the dog. Since I first played Duck Hunt I have been wanting to take a few shots at that mut. If Hudson makes it so you can shot the dog I will be happier then a fat kind in a room of chocolate bars. No wait I’ll be happier then a star trek fan talking to a real girl.

And speaking of Star Trek apparently the MMORPG has being stopped in production. Live long and proper? Not for a while anyways.

And finally who went to see In the Name of the King: A Dugon Sige story when it opened? Any one? You is your hand up? No ok. The film directed by everyone’s favorite director (roll my eyes) Uwe Boll cost 70 million dollars to make, and only made 3 million opening weekend. Boll says he is done with big budget moves and will focus on smaller films, because that’s where his passion is, and chances are now no one will give him a big budget move to work on.

Dear all nine reads of this blog. Let me start off by saying I’m sorry for the lack of posts. I am truly Sorry. Sorry that our princes in another cassel. At first I was pre occupied with the Xbox 360, and then I got buys with work. I probably still could have found the time to update, but I’m only one guy. But like a like a dominatrix getting over a case of hemroids I’m back and ready to an some buts.

And let me start off the first post of the new year by saying how much of a great year 2007 was for games. So many amazing titles came out I’m not going to get around till playing 2008, or this year as some people call it. Good thing I don’t have a girlfriend, or I’d have even less time to spend playing games. I still can’t get over the number of funazing (new word I made up fun & amazing.) Games game out in 2007. Just off the top of my head I thinking about: The orange Box, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Assassin’s Creed, BioShock, Syphon Filter Logan’s Shadow, Mario Party DS, Wario Ware Smooth Moves, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. Super Mario Galaxy I could go on and on, but I won’t un less you want me to? Ok I won’t.

2008 is looking to be a eye freaking great year for games. We should be seeing Dead Space, Super Smash Brother Brawl, Metal Gear Sold 4, ETC. Also Resident Evil 5 is due out early 2009. So it looks like I have my hands full with gaming stuff to talk about on this here blog. And I promise to not ignore it for as long as I did last time. I can’t update every day, but I can update more often.

One console to rule them all.

An executive from EA has recently said he would like to see an end to the video game console wars. Well I’m not sure if he said "an end," but I do know the executive said they would like to see only one video game console on the market. Of course this has people talking, and asking "is a one console world for the better?" Some say "yes" others say "no" and some say "I don’t play video games get way from me." My opinion is we need the competition. I’m sure lots of people have thought of this. I mean if Sony (I’m not bashing Sony) had only the one console then it would have cost a lot of money to get one. EA is a good third party company, but they should stick to that, and not consoles. I’ll just say one thing. . . 3DO.

Fish the Fight?

Halo 3 might not be the end. Bungie has announced they are working on some more Halo titles, and some non Halo titles. I’ll start taking bets on if any will be for a MAC.

Here’s another story.

Sony is denying the reports about faulty 40 gig PS3. There have been some internet reports saying over 40% of the 40 gig PS3 would not read game disc. But a spokesperson for Sony says this is not true, and blames the reports on poor journalism.

NOTE: So far I have not said anything about faulty 40 gig PS3s. Yeah! All pro reporter go me. Oh, and to make me look even more pro just overlook the spelling and grammar mistakes.

Let’s Talk Assassin’s Creed.

The game is set to come out next week, and there has been a lot of hype and mystery to it. So, we’re going to dive under the covers, and take a look at some of the mystery. We all know by now the game takes place during the crusades. And you play as a assassin (duh.) In Assassin’s Creed you can be stealthy before you kill, but that does not mean you need to hide in the dark. You can walk around in the crowd, and sit on a bench to bled in. There’s also some strategy in the game. One good idea before you kill a target is to scope out the city. How do I do this you may ask? Well it’s really quite simple. Just climb a high building. One up there you get a good look of the land. You’ll be able to see where some of the guards are, look for the escape route or just enjoy the view

There are four main weapons in the game: Your sword, throwing knifes, a small sword for really close rage combat, and a hidden blade so you can seek up on your targets and wipe them out. Now we were chatting about the crowd earlier did I mention they have a good role in the game play? I kind of did? Ok well listen to this; The crowd can help or hinder you. Say you kill a target, and some guards are after you. You are going to need to make a quick escape, so people in the streets can be in your way. But don’t worry you can knock them down just like in your favourite action movie. If they are not in your way they can get in the way of the guards and help you make a clean escape.

Remind me some time after Assassin’s Creeds comes out to do a review on it. I’ll have to rent it. Then maybe I can find out about the SCI FI elements to it. Ubisoft Hopes to make sequels to Assassin’s Creed. They are going to wait to see if the first one finds an audience and is successful. I just have to say I’m glad they are waiting to see how the first one does. It’s better the calling Assassin’s Creed the first in an epic trilogy. Anyone remember Advent Rising?

Moving On. . .

It might not be five years before we see something new form Nintendo. President of Nintendo Satoru Iwata said "We are always preparing for new hardware so that we can launch whenever we determine we should do so, however, scheduling for a rather fixed launch date four years from today regardless of future changes in the industry and the market, appears to be too inflexible an approach to us. We are always studying and working on what the new hardware must become in the future, but we are also monitoring changes in circumstances in order to act
flexibly."

As for Nintendo’s hand held the DS it might be around for a while. Nintendo says they have no shortage of ideas for the system.

Manhunt 2 will still keep it’s M rating despite some of it’s content. The violence for the sequel was toned down and stuff was taken out. However, hackers found a loop hole to find some the band content. Now we all know how hard it must have been for hackers to get their hands on the content. Rockstar would never hind anything in a game. Would you excuse me for a second I’m going to go get some hot coffee.

Are you ready to rock? Well get in line early or pre order your copy of Rock Band. EA has recently said all things are a go for the Nov. 20th launch, but there might not be enough copies to meet the high demand. So a few people might have to wait before they can rock out.

The Wii ain’t no fad bitches

Says the President of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime. Of course he did not use those exact words. In a recent interview with the San Francisco Chronicle Fils-Aime said " We are finding that consumers are playing a wide range of software much beyond Wii Sports. People are playing their Wii consoles frankly more today than the day we launched

The Reggantor also expressed his like of BioShock he says the game was really well done, and here’s an interesting little kicker. He also would like to have Halo on the Wii. And questions the sanity of anyone who would not want to have Halo on their consoles. He also added if you don’t read this blog a million kittens will be shaved and thrown into the sun.. . .Ok I made that last one up.

In Other Nintendo news it seems we can’t go anywhere with out getting hit with some sort of Super Smash Bros. Brawl news. Whether it’s to the bathroom or the funeral home we always here something new about SSBB. I’m sure we have all heard the news about the releases date being pushed to Feb. 10th, King DEE DEE joining the cast. Now We have even more news about the game. But don’t worry this news is quite interesting.

SSBB is going to feature a level editor. That’s right Fanboys I said a level editor. This will allow gamers to choose the background pattern, stage sise, platform placement and music. Players will be able to send out custom made levels to friends, well wishers and pals. But here’s the icing on the turnup. Level makers can submit their creations to Nintendo which will then feature best level designs on a daily basis.

The entertainment and devices division of Microsoft (responsible for the 360 and games. Just letting you know for the record) Are reporting an increase of $165 million to their quarterly profits. All thanks to the wonderfully kind, and might add single Master Chief.

So, well know licensing issues cause a lot of problems, high gas prices, war and global warming. Well now licensing issues are causing the delay of SingStar for the PS3. The game was set for a December release, but now it has been pushed back to a further time. Course you licensing issues can’t you give us a break just once?

In other PlaySation 3 news we can look out for the new 40 gig model to hit store shelves on Nov. 2nd. The 40 gig version won’t have backwards compatibility with PS2 game and only two USB ports instead of four, but get this it will be a little quieter. It’s all very simple you see the 40 gig PS3 uses a smaller, cooler running 65 nanometer Cell processor which results in reduced power consumption (135 watts down from 200) and external noise that the machine gives off.Yeah.

BioShock Review.

I have played a bit of BioShock. Not as much as some people, but I have also seen a lot of the game in action. Enough to give the game a review.
BioShock is just your standard first person shooter/adventure with some RPG elements, and nifty powers you can shoot out of your hand at enemies. Wait What? We have not seen too many games that blends in genres like BioShock. Systemshock, and Deus Ex are good examples. I haven’t had a chance to play Deus Ex or Systemshock, but they have received a lot of critical praise. Trust me. And they have one thing in common with Bioshock. . .You’ll be willing to run over a monkey for your chance to play it.
The game takes place in an underground city called Rapture. I had a dog called rapture he bit me once then ran away. Life in Rapture is not like life in any of the underwater cites you have been to on vacation. Something funny has been going on at Rapture. So funny that people in the city want to kill you as soon as they see you, and some can throw fire at you, while others just like to shoot you. When you first arrive in Rapture you are guided by a nice little voice over the radio you fills you on the underwater city, and tells you what to do, and helps you upgrade and gain powers where can shoot electricity and fire out of your hand, as well as other awesome fun powers too.

One enemy to fear is the Big Daddy. They are strong, unforgiving, and weird looking. You only have to fight a Big Daddy if you attack it first. Oh and when you need to take Adam upgrades from a Little Sister. Little Sisters are these weird girls whom the Big Daddy protects. And If you want to make it anywhere further in the game you have to kill a Big Daddy to get at the Little Sister. But here’s the eye spiting good part you can to chose to harvest or rescue the little Sister. Both give you Adam, but you get more if you harvest them. And what’s more fun then harvesting a Little Sister?

In conclusion BioShock is a really fun unique game that is well worth it’s $60 dollar price tag. That’s how I’m going to review the games is by the price tag. If a game cost $60.00 but only plays like it is worth $30.00 I’ll let you know.
